Nashville, TN – Robert “Jackie” Rogers Jr, 68, a lifelong resident of Nashville, TN died unexpectedly on January 9, 2023.
Born to parents Robert “Jack” Rogers, Sr. and Aileen Dodd Rogers, Jackie graduated from John Overton High School in 1972 and went on to obtain his Associate of Arts degree from Martin College in Pulaski, TN. Afterwards, he worked at Eli Witt Cigar Corporation as a salesman before becoming the deliveryman at the family business, The Sunshine Shop. He loved telling jokes and stories, bouncing kids up and down on his belly, playing cards, going to the arcade and playing pool, and practicing baseball and basketball with them. Jackie spent hours at the baseball field, coaching and helping Hunter and the team develop their own love for the game. Jackie’s favorite things were Tootsie Rolls, visiting his friends at the Waffle House, and watching old, black and white western movies.

Jackie is survived by his siblings: Janet (Chester) Stewart, Jim Rogers, Jennie (Kenny) West of Nashville, TN and John (Deanna) Rogers of Bowling Green, KY and his nieces and nephews: Joseph Stewart of Knoxville, TN, Heather Stewart (Jamie) Schnick of Prineville, OR, Catherine Stewart, Hunter Long of Nashville, TN, Maegan Rogers, McKenize Rogers, and Macy Rogers of Bowling Green, KY.
